6mm Napoleonic Wargaming, and 15 mm Huns
1,131 Napoleonic Prussians and Austrians painted since I started the Blucher project.
The armies are roughly equal in number, 562 Prussians and 569 Austrians. This wasn't planned in that respect.
The Austrians have 30 more cavalry figures though some are in the avante-garde division. I haven't included the horse artillery, but I have now finished and based them.
I have decided to do the following:-
Therefore I can increase the heavy battery if required and have flexibility with the visual aspect of the horse artillery. Easily identifying what aspect of deployment the unit is in. I will now complete the bases of the artillery also.
I am in two minds as to whether I should upgrade both armies a little or to start the French, which I have yet to purchase. My thoughts vary from time to time. I really want to start the French as they are the natural enemies of all nations during this period. Or always!
I say this tongue in cheek having just read '1.000 years of annoying the French' by Stephen Clarke. It is a fact filled book looking at the relationship between England and France since just before 1066 until the present day. Quite amusing also.
I think I will continue with the current armies as they are near completion anyway. Arms race not withstanding.
Also, I have started, and am nearly at completion of, the Asiatic Nomads to scratch that itch. Hopefully, this won't take much longer. I originally thought they were Mongols but have looked again and decided they are Huns. If you remember they are Black Hat Miniatures (blackhat-15mm-asiatic-nomads)
This sin't all the 98 miniatures but you can get a feel for the army. I particularly like the noble horse.
Some horse I have done with 2 or 3 coats of seraphim wash (Games Workshop) and various other browns. It's a different look which I was after. When finished I am not sure what I will be doing with the figures. I thought to sell them but as they were a present I think another army after the lead pile is complete looks likely.
It shows something of how busy I have been despite the 3 week holiday I had.
