WW2 German reserve for Bolt Action.

Hi!
This is the bargain buy from eBay.
Tanks, armoured car, transports, anti-aircraft and a nebelwerfer. All for £3 (under $4) including postage.
Perhaps I'll rethink my flocking!

The Bolt Action WW2 British & Germans

I've been slowly painting the Heroic & Ros WW2 British and Germans and have based all except the German platoon HQ's and a walking panzerschreck team. Solely because I ran out of 20mm bases.
The painting is fairly basic and the flocking may hide them too well. But I will know what's what (I will write it under the base, just in case).
The British
5 Infantry sections
1 platoon HQ
1 Lieutenant
1signaller
1 Sergeant
1 Orderly
3 PIAT teams, 2 prone, 1 advancing
3 2" mortar teams, prone
3 Grant tanks
1 Sherman Firefly
The Germans
5 Panzer IVF1'S
5 Rifle squads
1 120mm mortar team
2 Panzerschreck teams
3 MG teams, prone
I decided to go with the tank formations I found online despite the advantage it may give the Germans at some point.
But, already I am thinking of adding 4 Infantry sections/squads to each army to bring them to company level. That is partly because the supports, piats, mortars etc. are company level in quantity.
I might add some transport also.
In reserve, are the Germans I bought on eBay. Quite a considerable force which I will show on my next posting. The were already paintedwhen I bought them . I may use these as is, but I'm more likely to repaint and base them.
Thanks for dropping by.

Another 'Last' project!

Hi!
I'm afraid life got in tha way a little.
I've packed away all my ancient figures for while I'm in the States. It then took a while to sort out the things I'd brought. Now that is done, I'm ready to pick up where I left off.
BUT! I've also started a small project, no pun intended, of 6mm Bolt action.
Two small forces of British & Germans.
I intend to base the infantry by section, so no casualty removal. I may use tokens or keep a written record instead.

Just a quick update to show the progress on the previous post.

Last thing to work on are the bases.

The paint crate

Hi!

Just a quick update on what I'm currently painting. No AHPC (Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge) for me. Just rumbling along painting what is needed or might be needed for games of all sorts.

Pride and joy comes first

MiniFigs!

I picked these, GP64 Mossynoeci Spearmen, 3 up from eBay. Just so I can say I have some in my Achaeminid army. The number of figures doesn't matter. Perhaps I'll look for some Egyptian Marines next. Not that I actually need them, except to have something to paint and collect a few figures I never bought at the time.

The next are all my sci-fi gaming:-

The first Skaven Plague Monks. Stand-ins for the Feral race from Rattus Norvegicus in Ebaracum Galaxy. Upgraded to formidable force with guns.

Some Necron Warriors for robotic sentries.

A picture to show a Necron Canoptek Wraith. It's bound to be lethal.

Lastly, a Haemotrope Reactor. I have the plasma conduits and this will look great attached to some piping.

The last two, like the plasma pipes and Necron power cells and doors are from the Warhammer Imperial magazines/partworks. I certainly feel they are worth the £8.99 cost.

You will notice the paper buildings in the rear of the pictures. These are off-world habs, downloaded, and printed, from The Wargames Vault. I think they look pretty good.

That is it for now.

Thanks' for dropping by.

Five Parsecs from Home. 1st skirmish

The job was essentially a show of force. A roll through of the given location to intimidate the gangers. It passed through my mind we were cannon fodder, gathering intelligence. An expendable asset before they sent in a team to do a full takeover.

Well, we couldn't complain. Work is work.

The area was on the very edge of town. An area for scrap, obsolete equipment. A veritable dumping ground. The area was the stomping ground for some ferals from the planet Rattus Norvegicus. Humanoid type scavengers. Fast, tough and mean.

We got to the area as unobtrusive as we could. We expected they knew we were coming. Information is always available if you pay the price asked.

Luckily the visibility was limited. The pre-dawn air was pretty heavy with dust born particles. That would help us a lot.

We had options as to our plan. They would likely be spread out as they wouldn't know where we would run through.

I decided we'd bowl on down the town ward side, along the plasma pipes and the back of the factory units as a group to maximise firepower, as opposed to swinging along the open country or through the scattered equipment.

First move. Not a bad start

We went slowly (I forgot to Dash!)
It was going well until a feral popped up in front of Hari.

That's when the shooting started.  Hari was hit (stunned).
We laid down fire and Wolf took the kill.

The enemy came from our left through the debris, the fire obviously drawing them towards us. Hari took a shot and killed one (one enemy bailed).
Things started to get hairy. Hari and Bott ran forward (I remembered to dash!) Hari went down to enemy fire and Wolf was stunned by it. Our return fire stunned an enemy.

Bott moved into a brawl with two ferals

Exchange of fire, hoping to get some kills held us up

Our marksmanship wasn't as good as I had hoped. Luckily, neither was theirs. Cromwell takes one down. At least we are moving forward. Brax takes down another.
Bott wins one fight after stunning and being stunned in return in a stop-go brawl. (Stunned pushing away, then returning to the fight after over 2 or 3 turns). Brax moves up and finishes off the second feral that was fighting Bott.
We are through!

Just then Cromwell and Wolf are hit and go down! as we exit the zone!

Game mats. Who needs them?

Travelling to the US I was thinking how to transport my game mat which is housed in  4' tube. I decided it wouldn't be ideal to take it lije that or fold it creating creases. Another think was needed.
I decided to look, once in the States, at the fabric shops for an adequate piece to fulfill the shortage.
What a great surprise awaited me!
The range is practically mind-blowing with colours and shades for almost any scenario you can think of.
I bought four 36''x 42'' pieces for $52 ( mind you it was in New Hampshire so no sales tax!). That's 4 pieces for the equivalent of one game mat. Three pieces were under $13, the fourth was under $14.
Take a look at the 4 belowGrey's
Green's
Black
My favourite. Looks great for a  town/dungeon setting. A cobblestone effect for $14 a yard!
They will need ironing before using but are very lightweight and take a fraction of the space a games mat normally would.
Now only if I hadn't forgotten to pack my dice. A trip to Gigabite Cafe in Marietta is now a necessity.

T-Shirts

 Hi!

I found these great t-shirts on red bubble (Immortal)

And the Ishtar Gate (Ishtar gate)

I think they will be great for next summer.

There are other designs, and more covering Mesopotamian civilisations if you'd like to take a look.

I have no association with redbubble and do not receive monetary gain from posting. Just sharing a product wargamers might not be aware of and might like.

Wood elves

  Hi!

Having a grand total of one elf I thought I'd put that right. I bought two more, wood elves.

Both from Forlorn Hope Games (forlornhopegames.co.uk). As you can see one is bow armed and the other a bard with lyre and sword.

Just what a hero needs, someone to sing songs of your heroic deeds.

These are useful for Sell Swords and Spell Slingers as well as the 5 Leagues from the Borderlands.
