The Silver Bayonet, F&IW style

 Hi!

I have been working towards compiling two forces for The Silver Bayonet set in the F&I Wars.

First is a Native American unit:-

Sachem/Officer

Sachem

Medicineman/Champion of Faith/Doctor/Arcanist
What a versatile figure! A Medicineman was the spiritual leader of a tribe, hence the champion of faith. Not only that they had some knowledge of herbal medicine, doctor. Being the spiritual leader I thought arcanist would also suit. It would be a stretch to have the figure doing all three tasks at once so I would advise only one role at a time

Yes, a Reaper figure. And a woman at that!

Veteran Hunter

The other Reaper figure

Brave/Infantryman/Irregular

Brave/Swordsman (melee weapon specialist) Tomahawk and knife

Brave/infantryman/Swordsmen/Ghosts!

Yes, I will use 3 or 4 as ghosts,

The thing with this force is they are all irregular and native scouts. Not only that, they should have nimble and master of cover. It sounds totally unfair but if the cap fits....
This makes it probably the most versatile force you could bring to hunt the Harvestmen and their proxies, I think

A note on native American ghosts. From what I have read, in the north east the ghosts were black. Why? I have no idea. I will have to work around that somehow as a totally black figure might not look that great. I will try one to see how it goes. Anyone with any ideas please share!

You may note the figures are mainly from Galloping Major except for the two Reaper miniatures.

Thoughts and ideas welcome

  1. Black figures are difficult, what I do is paint the black then dry brush a dark grey, then dry brush a tad lighter grey, then ink all over with a blue ink, that can create a nice effect.

    1. Thanks' Ray.
I had a few ideas from commenters on LAF saying similar. And now I have the wigwams and wickiup from Grand Manner I'll be checking how you painted yours as it looks pretty cool.
